.md file. Document one workflow or a batch at once.
It runs entirely in your browser. There’s no account to create, no API key, no server, and no AI service. Nothing about your workflows is sent anywhere.
Workflow Docs is read-only. It reads what’s rendered on the workflow page and writes a document from it. It never creates, edits, enables, disables, or deletes anything in HubSpot. It doesn’t touch your cookies, credentials, or private HubSpot APIs.
Install
Add it from the Chrome Web Store:Get Workflow Docs by Howly
Install the extension, then refresh any HubSpot tabs you already had open.
Document one workflow
- Open a workflow in the HubSpot workflow editor.
- Open the enrollment panel and any action details you want captured, and let the canvas finish loading.
- Click Document workflow in the bottom right.
- Review the document, then choose Copy Markdown or Download .md.
Document several workflows
- Open HubSpot’s workflows list and let the rows load.
- Select the workflows you want using HubSpot’s own checkboxes.
- Click Document selected in the bottom right.
.md file with a section per workflow, plus notes on anything incomplete and clear errors on anything that failed. Cancelling still exports what was captured so far.
Only workflows on the currently loaded list page are included. HubSpot’s “select all results” across pages isn’t supported, so load the next page and repeat for more.
Workflow Docs and the Howly app
Workflow Docs documents a workflow. The Howly app shows you how your workflows fit together.- Workflow Docs is the free, standalone extension. It turns a single workflow, or a batch, into clean Markdown for sharing, SOPs, and handoffs. No account needed.
- Howly maps every workflow in a portal, finds the broken, stale, and duplicate ones, estimates credit usage, and gives you an audit you can hand a client. See Ask Howly and the workflow map.
