Workflows won’t load
If the canvas can’t load your automations, you’ll usually see a message asking you to reconnect. The fastest fixes, in order:1
Refresh
Click the refresh button to pull fresh data from HubSpot, bypassing any cached session data.
2
Reconnect HubSpot
If it keeps happening, disconnect and reconnect your HubSpot portal. The connection token may have expired or been revoked on the HubSpot side.
3
Check your HubSpot access
Make sure the HubSpot account you connected still has access to the portal you’re trying to view.
”HubSpot is experiencing high traffic”
On large portals, HubSpot’s API occasionally rate-limits the sync. Howly retries automatically a few times before showing this message. If you see it, wait a minute and try again. It’s temporary and almost always clears on its own. Howly batches its API calls specifically to respect HubSpot’s rate limits, so it won’t disrupt your other integrations. The first load is slow
The first sync pulls every workflow in your portal and maps the connections between them.- Most portals load in 10 to 15 seconds.
- Portals with 100 or more workflows can take up to 25 seconds.
An export or report didn’t open
Howly opens exports and reports in a new browser view. If nothing happens when you export, your browser most likely blocked a pop-up.1
Allow pop-ups for Howly
Allow pop-ups for app.howly.io in your browser settings.
2
Try the export again
Re-run the export. It should open normally once pop-ups are allowed.
A workflow is active but shows no activity
This isn’t a bug. A workflow can be switched on and still enroll no records, because the list it pulls from changed, a property was renamed, or the campaign behind it ended. Check the enrollment count in the workflow’s detail panel. It shows how many records the workflow has actually enrolled in the last 30 days, so you can tell what’s genuinely running from what’s just switched on.The map looks empty or filtered
If the canvas shows no workflows, you probably have active filters that nothing matches. Clear or adjust your filters, or pressEscape to close search, and the full map returns. Filters persist across refreshes by design, so they can carry over from a previous session.
