Howly exposes your portal through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so AI assistants like Claude can query your workflow health and issues directly, in plain language, without opening Howly. Every tool is read-only. Claude can inspect and explain your workflows, but it cannot change, publish, delete, or activate anything. The fixes always happen in HubSpot, by a person.
The Howly MCP is available on Howly Pro and Agency, and during the trial.

The tools

The server exposes four read-only tools. Your assistant picks the right one based on what you ask.

get_portal_health

The overall health score out of 100, total and active workflow counts, and issue counts by category and severity.

get_workflow_issues

The full list of structural issues, grouped by severity: broken enrollments, circular dependencies, duplicate actions, stale, orphan, and empty workflows.

list_workflows

Every workflow in the connected portal, so your assistant can find the one you mean.

get_workflow

The full detail of a single workflow: its triggers, actions, and connections.
Answers come straight from your live Howly data, the same analysis you see in the app.

When to use it

Reach for the MCP when you’d rather ask a question than click through the app. It’s built for the moment you want a prioritized plan, a quick answer about one workflow, or a cleanup summary you can paste into a client update. See Use Cases and the Prompt Library for specifics.

What it cannot do

The connection is read-only. It cannot edit or create workflows, turn them on or off, delete them, publish changes, enroll or unenroll contacts, modify records, create lists, or change properties.
Pair the Howly MCP with HubSpot’s own MCP and you can ask about your workflows and the rest of your CRM in the same conversation.
